The Gilimanuk-Mengwi High Ways project will be Bali Province’s second toll road, following the Bali Mandala Toll Road. The toll road that connects three Bali districts will open in stages beginning towards the end of 2022.
Eka Pria Anas, a member of the Badan Pengatur Jalan Tol (BPJT), indicated that these roadways will encompass three regencies in Bali Province: Jembrana, Tabanan, and Badung. This route or route from the Gilimanuk-Mengwi toll road starts from the inter-island ferry port at Gilimanuk Harbor and follows south of Bali to Denpasar. It’s around Mengwi.
This highway was developed to make driving from west to east easier for automobiles, as well as to give an alternate route from Gilimanuk Harbor to Denpasar, Bali’s capital. Because it connects critical development zones, this toll road is also geared to predict traffic flow.
This project is also concerned with minor districts in Bali. The Bali Provincial Government is currently developing access roads to and from tourism sites. This toll road is 95.51 kilometers long and has an inner shoulder width of 1.5 meters and an outer shoulder width of 3.0 meters. The length of the expressway is 41.3 kilometers.
These thoroughfares are separated into three sections. Section 1 is 54 kilometers long and connects Gilimanuk with Pekutatan. Section 2 joins Pekutatan with Soka and is 23,6 kilometers long. And the last is Section 3, with a length of 21,8 kilometers, connects Soka and Mengwi.
